Fall Work Day

On Saturday, October 20th, from 8-11:30 am we will be having a “Garden Work Morning”. We will be cleaning up the landscaping around the church and preparing it for winter (trimming bushes and taking down summer growth). Additionally, we will be cleaning the gutters and landscaping at the parsonage. We will start out the morning with a breakfast (will advise where at a later date). All expenses for breakfast, supplies, etc. are being provided by a Thrivent Action Team grant with Paul Kasten as our member sponsor. There are jobs for all ages and abilities. Please sign up to join us in this fellowship endeavor to enhance the beauty of the gardens at our church property.

Bread For The World Sunday

What a blessed opportunity for our St John family to literally give bread on Bread for the World Sunday to the hungry in our surrounding community. Bread for World Sunday is October 21st.  St. John’s would appreciate fresh SLICED white and wheat bread (examples: Kreamo or Aunt Millie’s). October 7, 14, and 28 donations of saltine crackers and oyster crackers would be appreciated. The bread and crackers will be promptly taken to the food pantry.

All are welcome to worship! Please introduce yourself to Pastor if you are a visitor.

Annual
Congregational
Meeting

On Sunday, November 4, St. John’s will host our annual congregational meeting downstairs in our Community Life Center after worship. This will provide a time for us to look over the budget for 2019, elect members to serve on our Church Council, as well as to answer any questions you may have regarding the ministry of St. John’s. An annual report will also be made available, including reports from the Pastor and our various ministry teams.

All members of St. John’s are eligible to vote on the budget and election of the Church Council, but all friends and family are invited to attend to find out more about what makes St. John’s unique in ministry. In our ELCA Constitution a member is anyone, at a minimum eighteen years of age, who has made a contribution of record, taken Holy Communion, or participated in the life of the congregation.
